Food For Thought

The phrase food for thought is quite well-known. It is a metaphor to refer to an important issue that takes up our majority of the mindspace. Let us look at this phrase from a different perspective.

HOW DO THINGS TAKE UP SPACE IN OUR MINDS? WHY DOES IT OCCUR?

Our sub-conscious mind is a powerful aspect of our body. It keeps note of every single interaction. The minutest detail is paid attention to. No matter if our conscious mind neglects, the sub-conscious mind is active at all times. The more we expose ourselves to people, surroundings and circumstances the more receptive that part becomes.

It is hence crucial that we keep cautious of what we feed our brain, be it conscious or unconscious. In case you have noticed, our dreams are often scattered. Our unconscious mind takes all the pieces from the sub-conscious and the conscious brain to make up stories to screen in your dreams. The most random thought gets entertained in our dreams, allowing us to play make believe in our fantasy or face our worst nightmare.

It is often seen that young children get fearful at night to sleep peacefully because they see a scary dream. When our actions are pure, our intentions aim to harm no one, a sound sleep can be achieved. Children, even though pure, can have such nightmares because of their overactive imagination. It is tough for parents to convince their little one that the dream they saw was not real. For children, whatever they see, hear or do is the most real thing ever.

So, ensure you don't expose yourself to violent unpleasant situations for extended periods. It is important for your mental well-being. Isn't this enough food for your thoughts?
